The Brisbane series

The Brisbane paintings in this new series represent John Garnsworthy's interpretation of Brisbane, his home city. In these paintings John interprets the changing light that envelopes the high rise building at various times of the day and night.

Using his characteristically rich colours and expressive linework, John creatively evokes Brisbane city with its high rise buildings and river vessels, while including Brisbane icons like Customs House, the Story Bridge and the Town Hall clock.
